Jamie Lang Paris-based Millimages, one of Europe’s oldest indie animation studios, is shaking up its sales team ahead of the fall market and festival season.

Citing a “rapidly changing animation market,” Millimages’ reorg is being executed to increase operational efficiency, improve responsiveness to its commercial partners, standardize the company’s sales strategy and support further growth for its increasingly popular flagship IP “Molang.” Of the changes, Millimages General Manager Adrien Moretto explained, “In a market saturated with content, we want to build on our 360° expertise.

Our teams have complementary skills, and bringing them together under the same sales department will accelerate the global roll-out of ‘Molang,’ as well as our entire catalog.” “Molang,” which is making its trans-European theatrical debut this week, features an adorable animated character with a big heart and a big sense of responsibility for its surroundings.

Created by Korean illustrator Hye Ji Yoon as a simple doodle in 2010, the Molang character has inspired an animated empire of six TV series broadcast in more than 190 countries, 30 billion views on Giphy, more than 8 million social media followers, a viral YouTube channel and 18 international licensing agreements.
