Chris Pine Joins Disney's Animated Movie 'Wish' as King Magnifico!

Chris Pine went from Disney prince (Into The Woods) to a Disney King! The 42-year-old Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves actor will be starring in Disney’s upcoming animated film, Wish, as King Magnifico. Keep reading to find out more… Chris, who is also well known for playing Nicholas Devereaux in The Princess Diaries 2, has joined the new movie, which is set to hit theaters this November.

King Magnifico is the ruler of Rosas, a magical kingdom where wishes really do come true. “As the most powerful person in the kingdom, King Magnifico needed to be played by someone who could give all the charm, cleverness and charisma to this magnanimous character, and Chris is beautifully bringing all of that and then some,” executive producer and writer Jennifer Lee shared about the part.

Here’s the summary for Wish: Asha (Ariana DeBose) is a sharp-witted idealist who makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star.

Together, Asha and Star set out to prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. Alan Tudyk will also be part of the movie with Chris Buck directing and feature original songs by Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice. Wish is set to hit theaters on November 22.
