Rangers are in discussions to have their Colts teams included as part of a bumper 16-team League Two - according to a report.
The controversial proposals have long been mooted and were back on the table last summer amid Scottish football's civil war in the wake of the season-ending vote but were rejected.
Talks are now back underway and Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson is said to be chairing a committee that will explore beefing-up the SPFL 's bottom division from 10 teams to 16.
He will be joined on the working panel by Partick Thistle’s Gerry Britton, Stenhousemuir chairman Iain McMenemy and Steve Brown of St Johnstone and George Fraser of the Lowlands League.
