Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, has said it will be a “great honour” to become Queen Consort when her husband Prince Charles takes the throne.

Camilla, 74, who has been married to 73 year old Charles since 2005, added that she hopes the role will enable her to highlight the work she does for a number of causes she supports.

Speaking to Emma Barnett at Clarence House for Woman’s Hour and BBC Breakfast, she said: “Of course it’s a great honour [becoming Queen Consort], it couldn’t be anything else.
