A free community festival has been cancelled for the first time in its eight-year history as the ban on mass gatherings continues during the coronavirus lockdown.
Organisers of the Prestwich -based tribute act festival 'Festwich' have been forced to cancel the event. Restrictions on mass gatherings are not expected to be lifted in time for the event to go ahead.
Festwich was planned for July 25 and 26, featuring tribute acts to Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Cure and Arctic Monkeys. Ticket holders have been promised a partial refund on booking fees.
