A six-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the back. Merseyside Police confirmed they received reports of a stabbing at around 4.45pm on Thursday, December 21 in Whiston.

The little boy was taken to hospital for treatment and a 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault. An investigation is underway with witness, CCTV and forensic enquiries being carried out in the local area, the ECHO reports.
