Police have found a body in a coastal area of the Shetland Islands amid the search for missing woman Sharon O'Neill. Officers were called to an area of shoreline in Lerwick at around 1.50pm on Tuesday, November 15 after receiving a call from a member of the public.
There they discovered a body and, although formal identification is still to take place, the family of the missing 46-year-old have been informed.
Sharon had last been seen near the Northlink Ferry Terminal on Holmsgarth Road in the island burgh at around 7pm on Sunday, November 13.
Cops had expressed "increasing concern" for her welfare, and said in a previous statement her family had been "understandably worried".The Coastguard was called in to assist with searches prior to the tragic discovery made earlier on Tuesday.
