Toronto-based noise-pop duo Black Dresses have announced their intention to break up, citing a period of "extended harassment" from fans.

In a statement posted to social media last night, the band's Ada Rook wrote that the decision was taken after two years of co-founder Devi McCallion being subjected to "invasion of privacy and harassment." Black Dresses broke through in 2018 with their debut album WASTEISOLATION, a viral success on TikTok.
