Ghulam Rasul, 74, was badly injured when David Hurst's motorbike crashed into him near Market Place’s junction with Lord Street in Leigh, Wigan, on September 10, 2019.

The pensioner did not gain consciousness after suffering severe head injuries and died two days later in hospital. Mr Hurst, 52, who suffered injuries to his neck as well as a broken nose and spent three days in hospital, has pleaded not guilty to causing death through careless driving.
