dailyrecord.co.ukA tireless team of volunteers have given the Lennox a behind-the-scenes glimpse into work to get the Maid of the Loch sailing on Loch Lomond once again.The Maid last sailed in 1981, before falling into a state of disrepair at her Balloch berth.Thieves raided copper and brass work from the historic paddle steamer, whilst vandals left her in a state of disrepair.However since 1995 The Loch Lomond Steamship Company have worked on a £5.5million project to restore her to her former glory - and get the Maid sailing on the loch for visitors to enjoy.That took a step forward in July as the 430-tonne vessel was hauled onto the slipway for work on her hull - leaving Loch Lomond for just the second time in four decades.And before closing to the public
