When Bargain Hunt star Tim Wonnacott made a sudden and unexpected exit from the BBC show in 2015, fans were left reeling. His departure from the daytime TV favourite came amid rumours of bullying accusations amongst the show's staff, although neither Tim nor the BBC have ever officially commented on the reports.

In September 2015, Tim, now 73, was said to have been taken off air after The Sun reported that a source had claimed: "Bargain Hunt comes across as a really upbeat and friendly show, but off camera there is a lot of tension. "Tim is very old school and not afraid of voicing his opinion.

He can come very close to the line." A BBC spokesperson later confirmed that Tim was not working on any new episodes of Bargain Hunt at that time, but did not directly comment on the allegations - and by November the same year, his exit from the series was officially announced. The BBC said at the time: "We would like to thank Tim Wonnacott for his dedication to Bargain Hunt over the last twelve years and for the great expertise that he has brought to the show in that time. "Bargain Hunt will be moving in a new direction next year utilising a team of experts who present a number of shows each.Tim continues to work with the BBC on Antiques Road Trip." Meanwhile, Tim kept his silence on the claims too, simply saying: "I am pleased to have been part of Bargain Hunt for so many years and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of my, roughly, 1200 programmes hunting out bargains with the contestants.
