Baby girl given weeks to live in desperate race against time for new heart

A baby girl is facing an anxious race against time to find a new heart.Little baby Aria Sutherst was brought into the world on October 18 but shortly after being born, she began to display symptoms of being unwell.

Aria, from Wallsend, was taken into intensive care at the Royal Victoria Infirmary as medics suspected that she was suffering from heart failure.

She was then transferred to Freeman Hospital and placed on life support. Chronicle Live reports that doctors are still not sure what is wrong with the newborn, but they are afraid that she may only have weeks to live unless an organ donor can be found.

The child has suffered from a number of cardiac arrests in her short life and it has been decided that she desperately needs a heart
