The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Greater Manchester has shot up by more than 100 in the last 24 hours. At least 63 people have died at the region's hospitals having contracted coronavirus, according to NHS data.

Public Health England figures show that as of Saturday evening (March 28), there have been 564 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at facilities in our region - an increase of 119 recorded cases since Friday night.

The true number of people infected is likely to be far higher as people who suspect they have symptoms, but are not admitted to hospital, are not being routinely tested.
