AMC Renews Zahn McClarnon-Starring ‘Dark Winds’ for Season 2

Ordered to series last year, “Dark Winds” was 35 years in the making, with executive producer Robert Redford optioning Hillerman’s book collection more than three decades ago.

Along with Redford, the series is executive produced by creator Graham Roland, George R.R. Martin, Anne Hillerman, Chris Eyre, Vince Calandra, Vince Gerardis, Tina Elmo and McClarnon. “This once-in-a-lifetime creative team and cast have delivered something truly special with ‘Dark Winds,’” Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to share the rest of this thrill ride of a first season with the fans and follow Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee into a second season on AMC and AMC+ next year.
