Amanda Abbington's fiancé Jonathan Goodwin had a fiery comeback for a social media user who suggested she had damaged former Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice's career after her allegations against him.
The Sherlock star left the BBC dance competition last year and later accused Giovanni, 34, of "mean, cruel, and abusive" behaviour, which he has consistently refuted.
Following a four-month investigation into Amanda's claims, the BBC disclosed the much-anticipated outcome today. On Monday 30th September, the broadcaster released a statement saying: "We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made. "We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part.
We know this would not have been an easy thing to do." BBC News reports that while Amanda's accusations of verbal bullying and harassment were confirmed, the allegations of physical aggression were not supported. The 50 year old actress has since issued an extensive statement describing the decision as a "vindication" and also addressed the backlash she had faced after making her complaint.
