The Royal photo, which comes after Kate's planned abdominal surgery, showed the princess with her kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.
Photo agencies and eagle-eyed fans noticed a few "errors" in the picture, leading to an apology from Kate. Writing on the official Prince and Princess of Wales Twitter (X) and Instagram accounts on Monday (11 March), she said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. "I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
