Albion Rovers boss tells side to start winning, after hitting foot of League 2

Brian Reid says Albion Rovers need to start picking up wins after falling to the foot of the table in League Two - starting at Stranraer on Saturday.The Cliftonhill boss, whose team were sidelined at the weekend due to the SPFL Trust Trophy, lost 2-0 at home to Forfar in their last outing on September 18 in what Reid described as their worst display of the season.Rovers had gone into the clash on the back of two draws and their first win of the season against Bonnyrigg on August 20.Reid had been pleased with his side’s display before Forfar came calling but insists they need to do whatever it takes to get wins on the board as they travel to a Stranraer on Saturday sitting fourth points above them in sixth spot.Reid said: “The first few games of the season we played really well and got nothing from it.“We deserved so much more and in some ways you don’t mind that, but as a manager you would say you’d rather take not playing well and winning, than playing well and losing.“We have been a wee bit unfortunate and not had the rub of the green, but there was no reason for the Forfar performance.“We were so flat and Forfar wanted it much more than us.“No team of mine will be in a position where they will get away with not competing at the levels they should.“It was far too easy for Forfar and that is something we need to address in terms of the players’ levels.“There’s a good bunch of players in there so I hope it was just a one off and we can pick ourselves up for Stranraer.“We were three games undefeated before that Forfar defeat and doing okay in games, but we need to start turning these performances into results because the most important thing now is winning football games and getting ourselves back up the table.”Follow
