deadline.comLess than one week before the nation’s second-largest school district in Los Angeles welcomes students back to campus, a new study from the American Academy of Pediatrics found “a continuing substantial increase” of Covid cases among children.“As of August 5, nearly 4.3 million children have tested positive for Covid-19 since the onset of the pandemic,” the AAP report reads. “Almost 94,000 cases were added the past week, a continuing substantial increase.
After declining in early summer, child cases have steadily increased since the beginning of July.”Since the beginning of the pandemic, children represented 14.3% of total cumulated cases.
