Police have identified 12 people involved in 79 'lock-snapping' burglaries and car thefts across Salford – and nine of them were young people and 'juveniles'.The young offenders have been linked to a series of incidents in areas such as Swinton and Little Hulton over the last year in which locks on homes were snapped using tools such mole grips and, often, vehicle keys were taken.The suspects were identified as part of Operation Corridor in which officers have patrolled the north west of the borough in uniform and in plain clothes.The police initiative has resulted in the identification of 12 people operating jointly who are believed to be behind 79 burglary offences between them.Chief inspector Tom Martin revealed the activities of the.
