Woman rushed to hospital after two-car smash on A76 as man is arrested

A woman has been rushed to hospital following a two-car smash in Ayrshire.A Renault Clio and a Ford Fiesta were involved in the crash on the A76 between Crosshands and Crossroads shortly after 10am.The 74-year-old driver of the Clio was rushed to hospital, although the extent of her injuries haven't been disclosed.Police have confirmed that a 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.10 am on Friday, December 9, police were called to a two-vehicle road crash, involving a Renault Clio and a Ford Fiesta, on the A76 near Bargower, East Ayrshire"A 74-year-old woman, the driver of the Renault Clio, has been taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
