Jon Burlingame editorPam Hupp, the real-life murderer played by Renee Zellweger in NBC’s “The Thing About Pam,” apparently had a habit of slurping her flavored soft drink from the local convenience store.

Her theme is a very short, a few-note motif combined with a predatory march.” And a rhythmic element in the piece is a slurping sound that adds an unexpectedly humorous touch.“Giona is a master slurper,” Belousova says with a laugh. “It’s not only in the score but they’re also using it in the sound design.” It’s one of many offbeat sounds that the pair came up before shooting even began.“Pam is not who she seems to be,” says Belousova. “She seems to be a good friend, a loving daughter, a star witness, all these nice things, when in fact she’s not.
