Tim Richard, the founder and CEO of European cinema giant Vue, has been named chair of the British Film Institute. Richards —who was appointed by U.K.
culture secretary Oliver Dowden —will take over from current interim chair and BFI governor Pat Butler from Feb. 16 and will reportedly serve a three-year term.
Prior to Butler, who took the temporary reins in November, the post was held by former Warner Bros. U.K., Ireland and Spain boss Josh Berger, who announced he was stepping down in summer 2020, having sat on the BFI board since 2011.
