Urgent 'do not approach' 999 warning for man spotted in Manchester

Police have issued an urgent 'do not approach' warning after a man absconded during a visit from a secure unit. Shaun Paul Smith went missing during the visit to Preston from the unit last Thursday (April 25), police said.

Officers now believe Shaun, who may also go by the name Aemon Martin, is in Manchester. He was spotted in the Tesco Express in Piccadilly Gardens at around 8.30am yesterday morning (Tuesday, April 30).

He is described as being a white man of slim build. He has grey hair, a beard and moustache. He was last seen wearing a hat, with cream jeans, a grey/red t-shirt, grey cardigan and black coat.
