UK families planning European beach holidays are facing higher prices compared to last year as inflation takes its toll, according to new figures.

The Post Office Family Holiday Report reveals that the cost of essential tourist items like meals, drinks, and beach items has increased year-on-year in 15 out of 16 destinations analysed.

The only exception is Puglia in Italy, where prices for UK visitors have actually dropped by 10.3%. However, the largest annual increases in prices have been observed in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria (up 41.0%), Marmaris, Turkey (up 33.3%), and Funchal, Madeira (up 24.1%).

Despite these rises, Marmaris and Sunny Beach still offer some of the lowest prices, along with Portugal's Algarve. The report highlights that prices in Marmaris have doubled compared to last year due to inflation and the country's unstable economy.
