Trainspotting star Robert Carlyle confirmed he's in talks to return as Begbie in a new spin off series. The actor admitted chats about the series, based on Irvine Welsh's 2016 book The Blade Artist, are at early stages but confirmed 'it's looking pretty good that this will happen eventually'.
The Blade Artist looks at Begbie’s life following the Trainspotting days and sees him living in California, reformed and rechristened as Jim Francis, with his wife and two daughters.
Robert who has just made the second series of Sky drama Cobra, told NME : “Irvine [Welsh] and myself have been chatting quite a lot recently with a couple of excellent producers in London about [continuing the Trainspotting story].
