Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

“Tiger King” star’s Joe Exotic’s husband, Dillon Passage, revealed the Netflix star’s legal team is seeking a presidential pardon.

The 57-year-old was jailed in January on animal abuse charges and as a conspirator in a murder-for-hire plot against his nemesis Carole Baskin.

Passage, 23, explained during an appearance on “Good Morning Britain” on Wednesday how the defense for Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, plans to deliver the pardon request to President Trump. “Joe's legal team are sending out the requests for it next week or the week after," the 23-year-old claimed. "They are driving a car all the way to D.C.
