A youth football club has taken on the running of sports facilities in Castle Douglas.Threave Rovers Youth Development will now operate the games hall, grass pitches and multi-use games area at Castle Douglas High School outside of school hours.The deal between the club, the council and the school comes after lengthy discussions.The club’s youth development officer Mark Geddes said: “It’s probably taken more than three years to get it over the line between the paperwork and then Covid kicking in but we officially took it over on October 25.“We have been using it during the summer holidays and the October holidays and it’s going to make a massive difference.
