The Bill will have not one but two reboots as it makes a huge comeback for 2023, according to reports. The cop drama, which takes place in fictional Sun Hill, could be broadcast as early as next year with beloved old faces returning for the former ITV series. The Sun now reports that UKTV are "in the early stages of developing a new version" of the police series, which aired from 1983 to 2010, when it was axed after 26 series on ITV.

The success of Line of Duty has no doubt had an impact on the once loved drama's future and, according to the publication, two reboots are in the works, to "attract a new generation" of fans.A TV source said: “In the minds of many producers and execs, The Bill is a drama which is just sitting, waiting, to be rebooted."It’s a simple format but one which attracted a loyal army of followers who would be delighted to see it return.“No doubt any new incarnation would be tweaked to make it attract a whole new generation to the show.”Last year it was claimed actors Graham Cole, Trudie Goodwin and Mark Wingett were in talks to return with some assisting writer Simon Sansome with plans to revamp the series under the new name, Sun Hill.
