SYFY noted the historic mention of sex, which happens in the first 10 minutes of the show, “makes the show an absolute game-changer for the nearly 50-year-old franchise.”Creator Tony Gilroy told Rolling Stone magazine that the very first scene of the first episode opens with a trip to a brothel, which leaves viewers in no doubt about the show’s tone.“It sure is a good tell when you turn in that first episode for them to say, ‘Whoa! Disney has a new television series for the "Star Wars" universe that is already getting thumbs up from fans and critics alike.  On Wednesday, the company released "Andor," a prequel show to the commercially successful 2016 film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," on the Disney+ streaming service.The story focus on the journey of Cassian Andor, portrayed by Diego Luna, who also executive produces the series.  Set five years before the events of "Rogue One," the show focuses on the transition of Cassian from petty thief to the rebel hero we see in the film.The actor believes the show will provide fans with an "intimate" perspective of what life was like under the rule of the Galactic Empire.  "There has to be action and adventure and that like big scope of science fiction that you expect from 'Star Wars,' but at the same time, we can allow ourselves to be different," Luna said in an interview with Reuters. Jacinto joins previously announced series lead Amandla Stenberg in the series as well as cast members Jodie Turner-Smith and Lee Jung-jae. Reps for Jacinto and Disney did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment. Jacinto is best known for his role in the critically-acclaimed NBC sitcom “The Good Place,” on which he starred throughout the show’s four season run at the network in the role of Jason, a not-so-bright Floridian with a love for Blake Bortles and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has since starred in the Hulu series “Nine Perfect Strangers” and Netflix’s “Brand New Cherry Flavor.” On the film side, he has starred in features like the blockbuster sequel “Top Gun: Maverick” as well as “I Want You Back” and “Bad Times at the El Royale.”

We are mere days away from the release of Lucasfilm’s latest foray into the galaxy far, far away, “Andor.” And as with every major franchise nowadays, the release of a new project just means there will be plenty of questions about what’s to come next. And boy howdy, Lucasfilm has a lot of “Star Wars” TV content on the horizon, including what might be the most mysterious (and thus, interesting) project, “The Acolyte.” But as we get closer to production, at least we’re getting more information about who might star in the cast of the outlier “Star Wars” series.
