A teenager who threatened police officers with violence after being thrown out of a Perth nightclub has been fined £200.Rogan Scott Telford told constables he would lay into them after he was ejected from The Loft in the early hours of a morning in December last year, Perth Sheriff Court heard this week.Fiscal depute Elizabeth Hodgson said uniformed officers had been on foot patrol in the city centre that evening when they observed Telford shouting at door staff.“He was refusing to leave after being asked to do so,” she said. “He was shouting at door staff, telling them to ‘f*** off’.“Police witnesses approached the accused.

The accused began to shout and swear at the police witnesses, telling them to ‘get to f***’ and “I’ll kick your c*** in’.“Police witnesses took hold of the accused who tensed up and tried to get away.”Ms Hodgson said the officers then arrested Telford and locked him up for the night. The court Telford (19), of Hermitage Drive, Perth, later pled guilty by letter to a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by acting in an aggressive manner towards police officers, shouting and swearing and uttering threats of violence in South Street on December 11 last year.Duty solicitor Pauline Cullerton informed the court Telford was a first offender and said it was “fairly unlikely” he would get into trouble again after spending a night in a cell.Sheriff Mark Steward agreed Telford would probably have found the experience “unpleasant” and fined him £200, reduced from £300 for his early guilty plea.
