‘Game of Thrones’ could be getting an MMO game

Game of Thrones massively multiplayer online (MMO) game is in development and it’s set in the frigid North, featuring iconic locations such as Winterfell and The Wall.As reported by The Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligence, (via Eurogamer) Nexon, which published The Finals and Kartrider, is behind a new Game of Thrones MMO. The report states that the game will be set in the North sometime between the show’s fourth and fifth seasons, so spoilers ahead.Roose Bolton is Warden of the North, and Jon and Sam are still up at The Wall.

‘Stalker 2’ studio asks fans to ignore leaks following pro-Russian hack
Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World has confirmed that it’s been the victim of a hack, following claims that “a huge amount of materials” from the game would be leaked if the Ukrainian studio does not apologise to Russian fans.Details of the hack first surfaced on Saturday (March 11) when a user from Russian social media site VK claimed to have “tens of gigabytes” of content taken from Stalker 2, including the game’s story, maps and cutscene information.The statement was accompanied by a number of unreleased screenshots and concept art from the game.In the post, the hacker demanded that GSC Game World “rethink [its] attitude towards players from Belarus and Russia,” remove the ban on the hacker’s account from Stalker 2‘s official Discord, and announce a Russian-localised version of Stalker 2.Currently, Stalker 2 is not available for purchase in Russia.The hacker has threatened to release the stolen Stalker 2 footage if GSC Game World does not comply by March 15 and claimed that “it is not necessary to spoil the game for people because of politics”.Yesterday (March 12) GSC Game World confirmed that although an employee had been hacked, it had no plans to comply with the hacker.A message from GSC Game World team pic.twitter.com/rqRM0tFZmO— S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Capcom showcase will spotlight “upcoming games” next week
Capcom Spotlight has been announced for next week, with the developer telling fans to expect “updates and new information” about its upcoming games.The Capcom Spotlight will take place next Thursday (March 9) at 10:30PM, and Capcom says it will run for approximately 26 minutes.As for what the show will contain, Capcom’s website claims it will feature “updates and new information about our upcoming games,” including its Resident Evil 4 remake and Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.When the showcase begins, you can watch it through the YouTube video below.Capcom’s next major release is Resident Evil 4, which will launch for PlayStation, Xbox and PC on March 24.Last week, Capcom shared a third trailer for the remake during Sony‘s State Of Play presentation. Indie game publisher Wired Productions announces music label
Wired Productions has announced the launch of Black Razor Records, a music label that will raise money for mental health charity Safe In Our World with its first EP.Black Razor Records will aim to “merge video games with creative, original music and give music creators a paltform to showcase and commercialise their talent.”The label’s first release will be ‘Arcade Paradise EP’, which features music from Arcade Paradise – a Wired-published indie game that we gave four-stars in our review this year.‘Arcade Paradise EP’ is a collaboration between former Prodigy live drummer Kieron Pepper, Stu Brootal of Ivar & The Horde, and producer Ben Pickersgill.Discussing the EP, Pepper shared that the story of Arcade Paradise and protagonist Ashley’s “struggle with authority is one we have all experienced at some point in our lives.””When we were briefed about the theme, it was easy to quickly understand and relate to,” added Pepper. “Stu Brootal and his crew [Ivar & The Horde] smash it out of the park with the right level of anger and energy.”All proceeds from sales of the EP on Bandcamp will be donated to Safe In Our World, a charity that aims to improve mental health awareness within the video game industry.“Music has always been in the DNA of Wired Productions, so setting up a music label is a natural step for us,” explained Leo Zullo, managing director at Wired Productions.

Square Enix appears to be opening a new Western studio
Square Enix could be opening a new studio in the West.The application appeared on the database last week on August 17 where it was filed, created and formalised, and it currently appears to be pending  (via VGC).It looks like the new Western studio will be called Studio Onoma and will focus on developing and “publishing of computer game software and video game software.”The application also includes additional details for the services and goods the studio will provide, such as strategy guides, posters, casual clothing, toys, games, and playthings, “namely action figures, [and] handheld battery-operated games”. Square Enix Newco Limited is listed as the trademark applicant, which is a recently established company in London, England.Earlier this month, it was reported that Square Enix is looking to sell off stakes in Western studios in a bid to “improve capital efficiency.” This follows the sale of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos to Embracer Group back in early May. The deal was worth around £240million ($300million) and included Square Enix studios Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix Montréal, and Eidos.In July, the founder of Eidos, Stephane D’Astous, stated that the Final Fantasy publisher may have sold its Western developers to gear up for a Sony acquisition.At the time, he said: “If I read between the lines, Square Enix Japan was not as committed as we hoped initially.
