Kim Murphy Tom Fleischman, a frequent collaborator of Martin Scorsese and Spike Lee and a five-time Oscar-nominee for his work as a rerecording mixer, has resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in response to the organization’s plan to remove eight categories from the live broadcast of the 2022 Academy Awards.An industry veteran, Fleischman has accrued nearly 200 credits as a rerecording mixer, with a career spanning more than five decades.

Primavera Sound Festival has announced that it will take place in both Barcelona and Madrid in 2023.The festival first launched in Barcelona in 2001, and is set to expand later this year to feature a previously announced Los Angeles edition.Last year, Primavera Sound announced a plan to return with a bumper two-leg edition in Barcelona, taking place across two weekends in June 2022. Next year, it will still run across two weekends, but the second will take place in neighbouring Madrid.A statement from the festival read: “The 2023 edition of Primavera Sound will once again happen over two weekends.

The National, Father John Misty, Brandi Carlile, and more have been announced for the first Sound on Sound Music Festival.Organized by Founders Entertainment, the same people behind Governors Ball, the festival will take place September 24 – 25 in Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Seaport Park. Phoebe Bridgers has hit back at a defamation lawsuit filed against her last year by recording engineer Chris Nelson. Seeking to have that lawsuit dismissed, Bridgers says that she believes statements she made about Nelson on Instagram were all true, and that his lawsuit should be dismissed on so called anti-SLAPP grounds.In his lawsuit last year, Nelson – who owns the Sound Space recording studio in LA – said that his first contact with Bridgers related to a possible musical collaboration.
