Soap star who was arrested on suspicion of rape has case dropped by Met Police

A famous soap actor who was arrested on suspicion of rape earlier this year has had their case dropped, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.The representative confirmed that a well-known TV star was arrested and bailed in February this year following reports from a woman in her 20s that she had been raped while attending a house party in December.The accused actor is also in his 20s, and the incident reportedly took place in a residential property in South London.The actor was arrested on suspicion of rape and subsequently bailed until April, while police officers investigated the alleged incident, the police confirmed in February.The authorities have now confirmed that no further action will be taken in the case and it has officially been closed.

Speaking to The Mirror, a spokesperson said: "In February 2023, police began an investigation after a woman in her 20s reported she was raped while at a residential address in the Southwark area on 30 December 2022. "She was supported by specially trained officers. "A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and later bailed," the statement continued. "Following extensive enquiries, no further action will be taken and the case has been closed.

Both parties have been informed." OK! has also contacted the Metropolitan Police for a further statement. A source reportedly close to the actor has also claimed to The Sun that news of the case closing will "come as a huge relief".

According to the insider, news of the arrest came as a massive shock to the actor's fellow cast-mates and crew on the popular soap earlier this year.
