Snow forecast for Scotland this weekend while bookies slash White Christmas odds

The Met Office reckon we could see some snowfall across Scotland this weekend as temperatures plummet. According to weather maps, Friday evening is set to turn icy blue again with lows of just -4C.

The chilling temperatures could bring wintry showers from this evening and throughout the weekend in some areas of the country.There could be 9cm of snow in eastern Scotland on Saturday and 5cm in more central areas according to the WXCharts maps.

The Met Office central belt forecast reads: "Rather cloudy in the morning with outbreaks of rain and hill snow. Becoming drier and brighter by the afternoon, still a few showers along the west coast." Temperatures will remain pretty chilly this weekend with maximums of just 4-6C in Glasgow,
