Scots street locked down as police set up cordon near flats

A Scots street has been locked down by cops in Coatbridge.Officer are at the scene on Cumbrae Crescent amid an ongoing incident.

A police cordon has been set up with tape blocking access to part of the residential street. It's understood officers are on guard near a block of flats.According to one resident, cops raced to the street on Thursday night.

They said on social media : "Anyone know what's happened in Cumbrae Crescent, had a police car parked across the road all night, then this morning officer standing patrol!" It's not yet known if anyone has been injured and the nature of the incident remains unclear.Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
