Scots mum 'in shock' after son's car deliberately set alight outside home

Glasgow. Emergency services were called to Shandwick Street in Easterhouse in the early hours of Wednesday morning following reports of a car blaze.

The flames were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, with police investigating the fire as "wilful." Following the blaze, home owner Diane Fitzpatrick took to Facebook to detail her shock about what happened, and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

She revealed it was her son's brand new car that was set alight, and he had only had it for two months.Pictures posted show that the white Volkswagen car had been completely obliterated by the fire, and was now wrecked.The whole situation could have been worse, if her neighbour had not banged on their door to tell them what.
