Kitchen renovation prices - and problems - can escalate in a blink of an eye. Yet Laura Hammerton made over her kitchen with just a scant £200 and some clever DIY skills.

Laura did the DIY makeover even whilst working at a neonatal unit as her partner had been furloughed at the start of the pandemic. She saved 'maybe thousands' by doing the transformation herself and the end result has had lots of praise online.

The 32-year-old mum-of-one snapped up supplies from Wilko, Amazon and eBay having already redecorated her house room by room, reports Manchester Evening News.

Laura, who lives in Grimsby, told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk : "When Covid first started, my partner was furloughed so I took advantage of having him at home. "Working on the neonatal unit at my local hospital, I still worked throughout."On my days off we redecorated room by room in the house, but the biggest most rewarding project was my kitchen."I’d recently joined some DIY groups on Facebook.
