Police uncover £40,000 drugs stash following raid of Ayrshire property

A man and a woman have been charged after a police raid on an Ayrshire property recovered drugs with an estimated street value of £40,000.

The raid took place on Wednesday, January 12, as officers with a search warrant raided a property in Nursery Place, Ardrossan.A quantity of Class A drugs, believed to be cocaine and a quantity of Class B drugs, believed to be cannabis, were seized.A significant amount of money was also found.

A 37-year-old man and 39-year-old woman were charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs and have been released to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.

Wednesday’s raid of part of Ayrshire Police Division’s ongoing ‘Operation Designate,’ which is designed to combat serious and organised crime and the supply of controlled drugs.
