Romelu Lukaku's agent has revealed just how close he came to leaving Manchester United for Juventus two years ago. The Belgian striker was deemed surplus to requirements by former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in 2019 and was offered to the Italian giants in order to get him off their books.
Lukaku had agreed to join Juventus in a potential swap-deal for either Paulo Dybala or Mario Mandzukic, with the Belgian's agent, Federico Pastorello, now claiming United were actually set to sign both forwards in exchange.
The proposed transfer fell through however when United refused to meet Dybala's exorbitant wage demands while the club was reluctant to include veteran forward Mandzukic as part of the deal.
