Post Office foreign money sales rise as more people book wintersun holidays this year

Foreign currency sales in Post Office branches have increased as families enjoyed the first school break of the new term and the relaxation of travel restrictions.

The relative strength of the pound has helped to bring down prices for winter sunseekers heading from the UK to some overseas resorts, Post Office Travel Money said.

Nick Boden, head of Post Office Travel Money, said: "Sterling has remained buoyant this year despite the difficulties that Britain has faced and is currently worth around 8% more against both the euro and the Croatian kuna than a year ago.
