Police were scrambled to an unusual vehicle stop - a van so full of eggs it was 2 tonnes overweight.The motorway policing team - a joint unit between Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside police forces - spotted the vehicle looking suspicious near Switch Island.When they opened up the van to see what was weighing it down, they found an unexpected cargo - pallets of eggs.Police said the van was taken off the road and the driver issued with a fine."A busy day for C block who have bid you all a good evening," North West Motorway Police said in a tweet."RCVU (Regional Commercial Vehicle Unit) keeping them busy with this driver who may have literally put all his eggs in one basket (so to speak)."Stopped at Switch Island & found to be 2.
