The BBC turns 100 today and it appears the centenary is helping to build bridges between the UK public and the Conservative government — at least in the short term.

Conservative backbenchers have warned Liz Truss 'has little more than a week' to save her leadership as she prepares to defend to her 'new approach'.

Despite coming into power just weeks ago, the current Conservative government is already facing pressure to call a general election after a chaotic few weeks.

With a new British government, specifically a new culture secretary, in place, the decisions to privatize Channel 4 and to scrap the BBC licence fee are being reviewed.
