PEAKY Blinders director has explained the show's latest shake-up in a bid to ‘retain power’ over fans. Speaking during a Q&A, Anthony Byrne revealed he'd made a significant change to season five, and his reasons behind it.

He said: "We removed the front titles from season five because I didn't want the audience to be distracted by people's names. "If you're a fan of the show, you know who everybody is. "All the actors in the show are largely, very well-known so they don't need to have their name at the front. "I'd rather you were watching Tommy walking through the field." Anthony also discussed the decision to scrap the show's famous theme tune, which is Red Right Hand by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
