The Beths have returned with a powerful new single titled ‘A Real Thing’, marking their first new material in almost two years.It’s a darker track than fans of the band have to come to expect, standing out amid their catalogue with its bleak lyrics and bold, authoritative riffs more akin to metal than The Beths’ typically buoyant, jangly pseudo-surf-pop. On its explosive chorus, frontwoman Liz Stokes sings: “Getting rhyme over reason / It’s a sinister silly season / But maybe we can end up meaning / A real thing.”The track arrives alongside a video helmed by the band’s longtime collaborators Annabel Kean and Callum Devlin (aka Sports Team), with whom The Beths recently worked on their concert film ‘Auckland, New Zealand, 2020’.

The Paranormal Activity franchise is returning!

Deadline has confirmed that the next Paranormal Activity movie will be directed by Underwater director William Eubank and written by Happy Death Day filmmaker and Paranormal Activity scribe Christopher Landon. He wrote installments two through four.

Angelique Jackson Will Eubank and Chrisotpher Landon are teaming up to direct a new “Paranormal Activity” film for Paramount Players, set for release on March 4, 2022.Eubank will direct the project, described as a “new, unexpected retooling” of the highly lucrative franchise. Landon returns to write his fifth “Paranormal” film and will executive produce.Blumhouse Productions founder and CEO Jason Blum and creator Oren Peli will produce the film with Steven Schneider as an executive producer.Paramount and Blum teamed for the original “Paranormal Activity” in 2009, which was famously produced on a micro budget and went on to gross over $190 million worldwide, spawning five sequels.More to come.
