A friend of Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abed could be arrested and forced to face questions at the continuing inquiry into atrocity next week if he follows through with a threat to snub the hearing, it emerged today.
Ahmed Taghdi, 29, who helped the bomber buy the car in which the explosives were stored, was today ordered to attend the continuing inquiry on Thursday next week to face questions about how his childhood friend was radicalised.
Last month the chairman of the inquiry, Sir John Saunders, called Mr Taghdi to give evidence but after the witness vowed to ignore the instruction the chairman applied to the High Court to compel him to do so.
