The cast of Oppenheimer staged a walk-out from its London premiere as a Hollywood actors' strike was confirmed. Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt and Matt Damon were among those who left the star-studded event to “write their picket signs”.

It came ahead of a press conference by the Sag-Aftra union in Los Angeles, declaring it had agreed to strike. The decision came after negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) failed to produce new contracts for members on Thursday.

The strike is set to affect upcoming award shows, premieres, events and film festivals around the world. It will include the Toronto and Venice film festivals, and the 75th Emmys.
