Nicholas McDonald set to perform anniversary gig at Town House in Hamilton a decade on from X Factor

Singer and songwriter Nicholas McDonald is back in Lanarkshire for a special performance at the Town House in Hamilton this weekend.Nicky, as he’s known affectionately by fans, shot to fame as baby-face teenager on the X Factor in 2013 when he finished as the television competition’s runner-up to Sam Bailey.The Town House gig is a 10th anniversary celebration of his time on the TV show which first propelled him into the spotlight.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

That’s because the performance in Lanarkshire was initially scheduled for Motherwell Concert Hall in October last year, but problems with the construction of the roof there meant it had to be postponed and a new venue sought.“It’s a 10 year celebration since the show”, said Nicholas. “I’ve been really really busy over the last few years."I do around 120 gigs a year, in Spain, England, and all over the place.

I feel like I haven’t really stopped. "This show was meant to happening in October so it’s been almost a year ion the making, so I’m really looking forward to it.
