New Lidl supermarket to be built in Greater Manchester

Plans for a new supermarket on the site of a once 'thriving' pub are set to create dozens of jobs. Budget retailer Lidl wants to build a store where The Fir Tree, in North Reddish, stood before it was demolished at the end of last year.

The discount chain says the development would provide the equivalent of 40 full-time jobs for people in the area.
