A pub and restaurant has revealed plans to build a new beer garden on part of its existing car park. The Rose and Crown, on Cockey Moor Road, Bury, has lodged plans this week with Bury Council to install inter-connecting pergolas and eight electric outside heaters at the premises.
Greene King, who operate the pub, said the creation of a beer garden was ‘essential for the business to develop’. The proposals also include a resin floor for the outdoor area, 18 planters for the garden along with posts to carry ‘festoon lighting’ around the space. Greene King said the car parking arrangements at the pub would be altered and the development would result in a reduction on the number of parking spaces at the venue.
The existing car park would also be repaired and a new white lines layout installed. A design and access statement in support of the plans, said: “The design proposals are to form a new beer garden to the east elevation for the public house. “It seeks to improve the local amenities for both the community and visitors.
