mum of an autistic boy has told how strangers have said he 'shouldn't be allowed out' because of how he behaves. Natalie Fernando, 44 shared hurtful comments people have made about her five-year-old son Rudy because he some times becomes distressed in public.

The mum shared her experiences of getting "stares and tuts" alongside a picture of her son being calmed down by kindly stranger Ian Shelley who spotted the youngster becoming overwhelmed on April 12.In a bid to raise awareness, Natalie, from Hockley, West Midlands, described the sort of comments she and Rudy have received.

Speaking to Essexlive, she said: "We've had people tell us he shouldn't be allowed out, that we should 'Take your child home' or people say 'What the hell is wrong.
